CNN and YouTube today unveiled plans to let users of the online video sharing community interact with presidential hopefuls through video questions. This venture will cover one presidential debate for each major American political party.
Those wanting to partake in getting their video questions answered by a presidential candidate can begin uploading their videos to a special YouTube Web site. Questions uploaded will be selected from by CNN for use in the debates, which will be broadcast through a variety of CNN outlets. Select YouTube users will be invited to be among the live audience.
The Democratic debate, the first Democratic National Committee-sanctioned presidential forum of the 2008 election cycle, will be held at the Citadel in Charleston, S.C. from 7:00 to 9:00 PM (ET), on Monday, July 23, and will air live on CNN. The Republican presidential forum hosted by CNN and YouTube will take place from 7:00 to 9:00 PM (PT), on Monday, Sept. 17, in Florida.
