Web 2.0 champions of the world, celebrate! Wiki is now officially a real English word, with the Oxford English Dictionary adding it to its latest online edition.
Reuters quotes Oxford English Dictionary editor John Simpson stating that “Words are included in the dictionary on the basis of the documentary evidence that we have collected about them. A while ago this evidence suggested that wiki was starting to make a name for itself”.
The Oxford English Dictionary was establish in the mid 19th century (according to Wikipedia) and is one of the most highly regarded of all English Dictionaries, cataloging proper English spellings (as opposed to US English spellings) for millions world wide.
