Social networks span across socio-economic status. In a new survey by financial marketing firm HNW, 1 of 4 wealthy Internet users or those with annual income of $100,000 join popular sites such as MySpace and Facebook.
More than that, about 52% of this segment is hooked on reading blogs while 20% have tried commenting on some blogs. According to HNW president Stacey Haefele:
“New media are redefining the high-touch experience by creating more immediate, personal and relevant one-to-one interactions, on demand and with an unprecedented ability to deliver that attention to detail that is the signature of high-touch service. Digital venues cater to the needs of time-pressed prospects who crave real-time contact on their terms.
Of course the usage pattern varies from one age bracket to another. Still, the impact of user-generated contents in social networks and blogs is very evident in spite of age differences.
