Retail giant Wal-Mart has added a new feature allowing customers to submit ratings and write reviews of merchandise, including online-only items as well as products that are featured both online and in stores.
Customers can easily submit a review by viewing a product page online at Walmart.com, or by email invitation sent a few weeks after they have placed and received an order. The product reviews are published within approximately five days of submission.
“We know close to 75 percent of Wal-Mart’s 130 million customers are active online which presents a significant opportunity for our online reviews and ratings platform to connect our customers to one another, and also help them further engage, communicate, share opinions, and learn more about products available at Wal-Mart,” said Cathy Halligan, Walmart.com’s chief marketing officer. “It’s all part of our continued commitment to be the premier multi-channel retailer.”
