Social networking services have been popping up all over the place, with most of them presenting their own take on the social networking game. Of course, with so many services out there, features are bound to overlap one another.
One social networking service that’s trying to catch people’s attention is the weirdly named ooVoo. It’s a social video call app that is available for both the Android and iOS operating systems. OoVoo is getting very popular. To date, the company claims to have 54 million users of its web application. One of the great features of the web ooVoo app is the ability to have a 12 way video chat with other people. It’s a feature that a lot of people love. The guys who run ooVoo has now listened to the clamor for this same feature on the mobile version of ooVoo and has announced that its mobile version now supports four way mobile video chat. With this feature, you can see four different ooVoo users in one call all on your screen.
OoVoo is trying to harness the power of Facebook by deeply integrating itself to the leading social network service on the planet. But it will also employ a more familiar UI that is similar to Skype in making and holding calls. The ooVoo service is beginning to make waves especially since it looks like it has licked the common problem of audio and video delay that’s been plaguing almost all video chat services.
Aside from the four-way video chat, ooVoo now also allows for texting while on a call.
