The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is one of the most hotly anticipated tech events every year and this year’s event will see more announcements for new products from some of the biggest tech manufacturers worldwide.
One of the early announcements for CES 2012 that will happen today, Monday, is the impending announcement of Toshiba about the release of a new 10.1 inch tablet that the company is going present as the thinnest and lightest tablet in the world.
The source of the information was a leaked press release written in Japanese. The release does not only talk about the thinnest and lightest tablet but also what the company calls the “world’s thinnest and lightest” 13.3 inch laptop PC. Although the exact details or specifications of the tablet and laptop PC are still vague (the information was not in the leaked press release), there is information in the release that talks about the tablet. The new Toshiba tablet will reportedly be waterproof and sport an OLED screen.
The press release also talked about television sets that the Japanese tech manufacturer will be releasing this year. For example, Toshiba will be releasing a new 55 inch TV that will sport a 3D feature. But this is not your average 3D enabled TV. The new TV will provide 3D without the need for glasses – a technology that will probably be similar to the screen technology Nintendo is using for its Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming device. The TV will also have an astounding QFHD resolution – that’s a mindblowing 3840 x 2160.
