The only way that people learn about a business is either by accidentally stumbling into them, hearing about them from friends, or seeing an ad for them. All of these things can happen in the online world, and probably happen far more often, just like they can happen in everyday life.
You might walk by a cute store when strolling through town, or find a Facebook page for one when you’re enjoying social media. You might hear about a great hairdresser from a friend when you meet up for coffee, or you may learn about it from a Tweet they posted. As you can see, internet is just as important for promotion as word of mouth.
Social Media
There are tons of ways to use social media to promote your business, and each social media outlet gives you different and unique ways to do this. Even businesses that offer services, rather than products, can benefit from this. Use videos on YouTube to show what your business does, and use photos on Instagram as well.
One of the best social media sites for promoting a business is Facebook. You can share photos and videos, and you can even set up pay-per-click ads. Facebook allows you to set up a business page, which is a great way to build awareness and to build trust.
Google Ads
Google has more than just a social media site and email accounts. You can do pay-per-click programs with Google that let you pay when someone clicks your ad. But even more so, now you can advertise your services through Google Ads.
The more ways you get your business out there, the more people will find it. With this new Google Ads systems people won’t need to go to Yelp to review your services either, reviews will be right there.
Blogging
When you read posts online about blogging for your business you’ll find them telling you not to use your blog to directly advertise your business. However, even without self-promotion through a blog post, you can still get people to convert to customers without your blog being all about you.
Simply use your blog to give your readers the info they want, and be sure to include a Call To Action. If you are a massage therapist it would make sense to do a post about the pain relieving benefits of massage, followed by a message telling them to call you to schedule a massage for their headache relief.
Don’t take the internet for granted. Get online and start using all of the great benefits it has to offer so that you can promote your business and increase your customer base. The internet allows you to attract people from anywhere and everywhere, and build a name for your business.
