With the Winter Olympics kicking off this weekend in Vancouver, Yahoo is joining the excitement and letting users get into it as well via a new mobile Winter Olympics site. You can visit this site by pointing your mobile phone’s web browser to -Â m.yahoo.com/olympics.
Yahoo’s mobile Winter Olympics site is a one-stop shop for everything about the Olympics gig. It gives you up-to-the-minute coverage, access to live results, upcoming events, medal counts, photos, news, expert commentaries and more. And did I mention you can have all of those anytime, anywhere right in your mobile phone’s screen? And to make finding information faster, Olympics was also integrated into Yahoo’s mobile search results.
The Yahoo Winter Olympics mobile site is available in 13 different countries. If you’re located anywhere in these countries, you can check out the site on your mobile phone’s browser – U.S., Canada, the Philippines, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
I’m currently checking it out right now using my Nexus One and although I’m a bit excited at how fast the site loads and how nice-looking it is, I was a bit saddened by the accident that happened to Georgian Luger Nodar Kumaritashvili who met a fatal accident during one of the Olympics’ events.
Hopefully nothing more of this sort will happen as the rest of the Winter Olympics push through. Enjoy the gig on your mobile phones folks!
