MySpace and World Poker Tour (WPT) have joined forces to create the first fully integrated poker destination with games and content for MySpace members.

The MySpace WPT community delivers a unique poker experience with must-see content for poker die-hards and casual fans alike, including expert tips and tricks, player profiles, video clips, tournament news, and behind-the-scenes videos from the World Poker Tour and new ClubWPT.com TV series. The MySpace WPT hub also offers a free multi-player poker game developed by Oberon, MySpace’s online game partner and a leading innovator in casual gaming. MySpace Mobile announces Android application

MySpace announced a new mobile experience customized for Android and available via the Android Market.

“MySpace users will love the new Android integration with cool features like instant photo uploading and access to the latest shows from their favorite bands,” said John Faith, vice president and general manager of Mobile for MySpace. “We want to ensure that all users have access to their global MySpace network while they’re on-the-go, and we believe Android is a natural fit for an optimized MySpace Mobile experience.”

The MySpace Android application lends itself to a personal, unique MySpace experience and allows for a deep integration with the device including:

  • Instant photo uploading from an Android device to a MySpace profile
  • Check out tour schedules on band profiles
  • View and comment on photos, profiles, and bulletins
  • Search and add new friends
  • Send and read messages
  • Update and view mood and status

The MySpace Android application is integrated exclusively with Shazam, the mobile music discovery provider. The integration allows MySpace users to identify music by holding the phone towards an unknown song and connect to the artist’s MySpace page. From there you can see band information, check out photos of the band or artists and even check Upcoming Shows schedules.

MySpace launches video for karaoke

MySpace has redesigned its karaoke service with a streamlined navigation, improved sharing of recordings, and dedicated upload manager. It has also added a major feature– video recording. Now you do not just sing along with your favorite tune, but show how you belt that performance.

“MySpace Karaoke is a great way for the MySpace community to express themselves, share their musical talents and connect around shared interests – the type of interaction MySpace has encouraged and fostered since its inception. In less than six months since its launch, over four million users have visited MySpace Karaoke and there are over 500,000 recordings, making it the largest karaoke venue in the world,” said Nimrod Lev, Senior Vice President and General Manager of MySpace Karaoke.

MySpace has licensing partnerships with all the major music publishers and many independent publishers, providing MySpace Karaoke users with access to thousands of licensed karaoke tracks. Impremedia, MySpace present live streaming of presidential debates for Hispanic audiences

ImpreMedia, the Hispanic news and information company in the US, and MySpace is teaming up to offer Spanish-language coverage of the Presidential and Vice Presidential Debates. ImpreMedia’s online portal, impre.com, will host live feeds of the Debates and provide simultaneous translation of the debates into Spanish, making the Debates accessible for the first time in Spanish to Spanish-preferred Hispanic voters.

The Spanish-language live coverage is also accessible on MyDebates.org, a new website that hosts interactive tools for viewers to virally engage in the political process, including a personalized issue scorecard, polling, reportable national statistics, and live web streaming.

ImpreMedia’s online portal, impre.com, will host live feeds of the Debates and provide simultaneous translation into Spanish, making the Debates accessible to Spanish-preferred Hispanic voters.

Registration of Hispanic voters has grown 50% over the past ten years, according to the 2008 Pew Hispanic Survey, with some 18.2 million Hispanic voters now comprising 9% of the overall US electorate.
