Augmented Reality iPhone App Lets You Use an iPhone Inside an iPhone

Did the title confuse you?  Wait till you’ve watched the cool video of demo showing Orange UK’s 3D Augmented Reality app. But that’s  assuming  of course that your head is still intact and did not explode after watching the video.

I really don’t know for what purpose this iPhone app is really.  Probably just a bragging tool to show how powerful the iPhone is for handling 3D graphics and augmented reality manifestation.

The augmented reality iPhone app was developed by Ogmento, which judging by the way they have produced this video, is an expert on augmented reality app.

The video shows an iPhone inside another iPhone displaying how you can manipulate the 3D graphics rendering of an another iPhone. It allows you to zoom in your virtual iPhone.  Coolest part is that you can fire up and run iPhone apps.

Now that is totally wicked, right? Enjoy the videos, folks!

Tell Your Kids “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” via a Cool iPhone App

Aside from being a very useful all-around mobile phone for business professionals, students and your average joe’s, the iPhone is also very child-friendly.  My 5 year old daughter loves using her mother’s iPhone 3G to listen to music, play kiddie games and even take photos.

I’m pretty sure  my daughter as well as the million of kids who are allowed by their parents to use their iPhones would love this new iPhone app – “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” Yes folks, it’s the classic Christmas tale from Dr. Seuss getting a fresh treatment by way of a cool iPhone app.

The good thing is, it’s not only just your ordinary kiddie iPhone game because it is sort of an interactive ebook as well. Your kids could learn about this classic tale by letting the app read the story to them or they can read them on their own.

The app is also an educational tool for kids. They can tap on an item on the screen and listen to how it’s name is pronounced as well as see the word itself. The app also allows panning and zooming on the content of the ebook through touch gesture – hence the interactivity part.

When you’re kid choose to let the app read the ebook, each of the words are highlighted – an effective way of teaching kids some language lessons.

Ok before this post starts to sound like an iPhone app review, let me end here.

If you’ve got kids whom you think will enjoy this app, you can grab it from the iTunes Apps Store for $3.99.  A bit higher than your usual $0.99 iPhone app, but is definitely much cheaper than standard ebooks you find at Amazon.

Pizza Hut iPhone App Scores Another Award, Order your Pizza Now!

After getting various mobile innovation-related awards from several advertising organizations, here comes Pizza Hut iPhone app again bagging another prestigious plum. This time it’s from “the” Forbes Magazine, which named it the #Branded Mobile Application of 2009. Of course, Pizza Hut iPhone app was also named as the first national pizza chain to release an ordering app, and that’s not counting the millions of profits generated by the app for the Pizza store.

If you’re an iPhone users and you have not downloaded the app yet, you might be missing a lot. Actually I might be missing a lot because I haven’t downloaded the app yet. But I have a good excuse, the app is not available in the country where I am located. [Read more…]
