NomadsLand.com, an Internet destination for social issue films, is teaming up with progressive Washington institution and eatery, Busboys and Poets, to host monthly screenings of documentary films with a purpose.
NomadsLand.com provides progressive film-lovers worldwide the ability to download feature documentaries for high-quality viewing. All films on NomadsLand seek to provoke social commentary, stimulate political conversation or encourage social action.
The mission of the joint partnership is to offer DC progressive film lovers a screening venue for some of the powerful, though-provoking films available on NomadsLand.com.
One Sunday each month, NomadsLand will screen a feature film, socially conscious and international in scope, before an audience at Busboys and Poets. After the screening, audience members will enjoy lively debate with the director and two guest panelists as well as Busboys and Poets eclectic menu.
“Most independent films are grossly under-distributed,†says Davin Hutchins, filmmaker and CEO of NomadsLand. “One of the main goals of NomadsLand is to assist filmmakers in getting their films seen by engaged audience members and active citizens. We think films can make a lasting impact if they ‘permanently premiere’ on our global site and in front of live audiences who care deeply about these issues.â€
