I love writing news about Research in Motion and the BlackBerry. I’m not really a fan of the company or their product but we all know that RIM has been going through some really tough times lately. Most people think they’re already out for the count but the company keeps chugging along. I admire the company’s tenaciousness and maybe a part of me is hoping they’ll arrive at some kind of formula that would make them bounce back. Okay, not back to the heights that it once enjoyed because that is really asking for a lot, but for it to at least give a good enough fight and still slug it out with Android, iOS and Windows.
One of the newest updates about RIM has been the announcement that the company is coming out with a 4G LTE version of the BlackBerry Playbook. The new updated device will be made available on Bell, Rogers and TELUS – all companies in Canada starting August 9. The new iteration of the Playbook will com with a 32GB storage. No price has been announced yet.
RIM has said in the past that its upcoming OS BlackBerry 10 will be made available on the Playbook as a future upgrade but no concrete news or updates have been made about this. So for the time being it is only the 4G LTE improvement that’s been in the pipeline.
