Reading the Reuters site on a smartphone just got a little easier. They’ve added video according to a report over at Clickz.
Video clips will encompass both business and headline news, and range in length from approximately :30 to several minutes. A total of 20 videos will be available on the site at any given time, and the mobile video will be “updated around the clock,” according to Stephen Smyth, general manager of Reuters Media.
Ads will begin showing next month though, so faster access for you. Now, most of us don’t have a Nokia E62, Palm 700w or Blackberry Pearl, all smartphones that work with the service, so we’ll just see the original mobile site, but the lucky few will get video.
Doing ads in a mobile phone is hard, but when it comes to video it’s easy. A short spot before the actual content and you’re good to go. These kinds of solutions will be big in 2007, I can tell you that.
