The extremely small Raspberry Pi computer, arguably the smallest computer in the world, is now available for sale. After years of development and growing hype among tech enthusiasts on the internet, the Raspberry Pi is now here. It officially went on sale last Wednesday, and to say that it is a success is an understatement. It’s so successful that the web sites that sell the Raspberry Pi have gone down because of the huge online traffic.
The Raspberry Pi, which will run Linux, was developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation, a non-profit organization. The Raspberry Pi will come in two versions — The Model A, which will sell for $25, and the $35 Model B. The only difference between the two models is that the Model B will have two USB ports and an Ethernet port.
To use the Raspberry Pi, all you need is to get a monitor and a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. The applications where the Raspberry Pi can be used is practically limitless, as attested by the different groups that are eagerly awaiting its release. One of the applications of the Raspberry Pi is as extremely affordable computers where students can learn coding. It is also envisioned to be used for various mobile applications because of its diminutive size.
The Raspberry Pi is composed of a 700Mhz ARM11 processor and has a 256MB of RAM.
