Despite the fact that Apple’s iPhone 4 is still outselling its green robot rivals (despite Cupertino’s design flaw), it looks like HTC’s embrace of “all things Android” is starting to pay off (quite literally).
HTC has posted revenues of NT$ 23.858 billion (US$741.392 million) for June 2010, up 66.68% from a year earlier. Second-quarter revenues totaled NT$60.532 billion up 58.45% on year. (DigiTimes) [Read more…]

Now that the dust has settled and it’s confirmed that the  iPhone 4 does in fact hate left handed people, it looks like the boys and girls at Cupertino are seeking out a few good engineers in an attempt to remedy the signal issue.
The only question that remains is whether Apple is seeking them to fix the ever so popular iPhone 4 or in order to keep this issue from reappearing in iPhone 4G (as that is what it will probably be called in 2011). [Read more…]

Despite being saved by HP (who bought Palm for $1.2 billion), it looks as if Apple’s other nemesis is removing every barrier in order to attract developers upon their (dying) platform.
Palm is also trying to increase interest in their applications by offering a 50% discount on the majority of their catalog, starting immediately. The good news for developers is that they will still be paid the full amount, despite the discount given to customers by Palm. (CrunchGear)
According to CrunchGear, Palm is also waving the $50 application fee which was already half of what Apple is currently charging developers to create apps for iOS 4. [Read more…]

With Microsoft giddy about the launch of Windows 7 Mobile in the fall, it looks like one of their employee’s was a little too excited and seems to have (accidentally?) posted early demos of Windows 8 upon a blog powered by Live Spaces.
Fortunately another blogger was able to retrieve a few screen shots for MS lovers everywhere before the Redmond giant shut down the blog.
One of the features is that the PC will automatically resume from sleep and log-in when it sees you. Microsoft calls this “My PC Knows Me†The idea is quite simple, most computers now come with a webcam built-in or have one connected to them. Microsoft will be using this camera for facial detection and along with a proximity sensor the algorithm behind it will do the rest. (via I’m Just Being Manan) [Read more…]
