Samsung can chalk up another win against Apple in the ongoing legal warfare the two companies have been involved in. The ban on the sales of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 version that was imposed by the court in Australia has been lifted. Samsung was hoping that reworking their Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 by changing some of its physical features and then renaming it the 10.1N will be enough for it to fly under Apple’s radar and successfully sell the modified Samsung tablet in Germany, where it has been legally banned to sell the Galaxy Tab. But, as anyone who has read of Samsung’s attempt at trying to hoodwink Apple knows their attempt is bound to fail.
And it did. Apple has now filed a new motion that seeks to ban Samsung from selling the modified 10.1N tablet. The original ban was promulgated early this year and was made permanent last September. Apple claims that the Galaxy Tab 10.1’s design looks too much like the Apple iPad, hence, Samsung’s attempt to “change†the 10.1N with a modified bezel. [Read more…]

Based on the results of a study conducted on tablet owners, it was revealed that more tablet owners are now using WiFi this year. The study, which was conducted by Connected Intelligence – a division under the NPD Group, showed that in April 2011, 60 percent of the total number of tablet owners said that they only employ WiFi to go online. Only five percent of those studied had expressed any plans to get a mobile 3G broadband plan in about six months. [Read more…]

Motorola is intent on finishing the year strongly as it is gearing up another phone to add to its product offerings. New information has leaked about a new Motorola phone that will reportedly come out in a few weeks. The new phone, the Droid 5, might become available in time for the Christmas holidays, specifically by December 5.
The Droid 4 will be the fifth mobile phone that Motorola will be releasing just for this year. It has already released the Droid X2, Droid 3, Droid Bionic, and the new Droid RAZR, which was just released few weeks ago. [Read more…]

Siri was THE killer feature of the newly released iPhone 4S and the reactions of millions of Android phone users is quite understandable and actually predictable – they want a Siri counterpart for Android. There are a number of so-called personal digital assistants being offered at the Android store but these apps didn’t gain a lot of popularity. People are still looking for that one app that will go over and become widely accepted. A new contender in th Android space in the field of personal digital assistants is Cluzee.
