As a result of continuing pressure from the media, politicians, and other groups, MySpace has finally given in. The site is planning to offer parents the ability to download and install software that will allow them to monitor their children’s activity on the site.
WSJ reports,
Parents who install the monitoring software on their home computers would be able to find out what name, age and location their children are using to represent themselves on MySpace.
It is important to note that the software, called ‘Zephyr’ has previously been offered to other social networking sites, but the offer was rejected dude to privacy concerns and the software’s incompatibility with the sites’ terms and conditions.
The Social Web has more.
