mSpot unveiled mSpot Make-A-Ringer, the first service in North America to let consumers use their mobile phones to easily and legally create completely customizable ringtones from their favorite songs.
mSpot Make-A-Ringer will offer a large catalog of songs that consumers can browse or search by artist, genre and title. To make a ringtone, the consumer selects a song and mSpot Make-A-Ringer generates a graphical waveform corresponding to the selected song. The application then provides a simple editor that displays the waveform with a sliding window on top that allows the consumer to easily set the start, end and duration of their custom ringtone. The consumer can preview the ringtone before mSpot Make-A-Ringer creates and downloads it to the phone.
mSpot Make-A-Ringer will be available to mobile operators as a standalone service or a compliment to mSpot’s other popular mobile music services, which include mobile streaming radio and videos, and the mSpot Remix over-the-air (OTA) music syncing service that allows consumers to listen to the music on their PCs from their mobile phones.

That’s wonderful for mSpot to give the user greater choice and control over their content. They should hook up with the independent publishers and connect with the Spoken X mall third party applications and give their customers a bigger tone. . .
