Matt Mullenweg the creator of WordPress was on Webmaster Radio with Jeremy Schoemaker aka Shoemoney.
Matt addressed everything from how he got started to his views on splogs/widgets(mybloglog specifically)/Akismet/wordpress.com/ his drive/AdBrite/ETC… we covered it alot.
I really enjoyed Matt’s take on how he deals with success and the criticism that comes with it. Greg also brought up a great point that he is only 22 yet deals with it super well.
Matt also reveals his drive to create Akismet (spam prevention) stems from his mistake in allowing someone to publish some quesitonable mfa content with AdSense on wordpress.org in April of 2005. I had remembered the content and the controversy but I thought it was pretty cool that that was what spured him to create one of the best spam prevention systems currently in place – Akismet. Matt also talks about the future of WordPress and his take on the MyBlogLog aquisition by Yahoo.
