MakeMeSustainable launches social network with an environmental cause. Focusing on promoting environmental change and awareness through action, MakeMeSustainable aims to build a community of people who acts upon what they know about the environment.
The site provides individuals and businesses a web-based tool which allows them to manage their carbon and energy consumption, on top of a social networking platform. This allows users the opportunity to share their environmental experiences and get to know other environmentally conscious people in an online community.
MakeMeSustainable CEO and co-founder Benjamin Brown said in a statement, “Makemesustainable is more than a carbon footprint calculator or a social networking site, it’s about something much bigger. It’s about all of us taking our collective knowledge and desire to make a difference and spreading it as far as we can. Our tools make it possible for anyone to translate how we feel about the environment into what we do about the environment.”
