Local.com Corporation announced that the company is partnering with EarthLab for the 2008 Earth Day Challenge.
Local.com and EarthLab are joining forces with companies and nonprofit organizations throughout the United States to raise awareness for environmental responsibility by encouraging individuals nationwide to take the 2008 Earth Day Challenge. The goal of the Challenge is to have 1 million people take the EarthLab Carbon and Lifestyle Calculator test in the month of April and reduce their scores by 15 percent by the end of 2008.
As part of the project, Local.com is providing valuable Earth Day resources through the company’s search and corporate sites including links to the Carbon and Lifestyle Calculator, Earth Day related events and volunteer opportunities and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) take home kits. The Carbon and Lifestyle calculator measures individuals’ ECP (Earth Conservation Plan) scores that are calculated based on carbon output and lifestyle factors.
