Opera Software is about to unveil a new version of its Opera Mini mobile web browser, not an updated version but a new version made specifically for the iPhone. If you’re a Sony Ericsson or Nokia mobile phone user before, you’ve probably used Opera Mini before. It’s a fast loading and robust mobile phone browser, if I may say so.
The new Opera Mini for iPhone will be launched during the Mobile World Congress. The mobile web brower promises a whole new way of surfing the web that will be  faster, easier to use and loaded with the usual Opera features.  If you’ve been an Opera Mini user before, you’d know that this browser is known to compress everything enabling it to perform faster than usual mobile web browsers.
Some of the nice features that you should expect from the Opera Mini for iPhone include desktop tabs, speed dial and password manager. Â The browser would also bring down data charges for iPhone users who are on a per-time browsing basis with their mobile carriers.
While this may sound exciting for all of us iPhone users, we might want to hold off on the excitement first since the Opera Mini browser app has just been submitted to Apple and was not yet approved. Although Opera Software is pretty confident that their app will be approved, I’m inclined to believe that Apple might hesitate to do so as it will take users away from their own Safari browser for the iPhone.
But then, we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, if you’re attending the Mobile World Congress, be sure to drop by the Opera Software booth as they are about to unveil other new  products during the said event.
