VoiceIndigo announced that it has partnered with International Data Group (IDG) to deliver breaking news alerts to mobile phones. As part of the agreement, IDG brands including CIO, Computerworld, InfoWorld and Network World are sending branded Mobile Alerts, powered by VoiceIndigo, to expand their distribution of technology related news to the growing universe of mobile phone users.
When breaking news occurs, opt-in subscribers receive an alert via SMS, and are guided to mobile-optimized audio commentary and detailed news via the mobile Internet. Five categories of IDG alerts have been syndicated across the four participating brands. Categories include: technology business news; security & compliance; servers & data center management; storage & business continuity; mobility & unified communications. Alerts are written and recorded by key IDG content experts and will only be sent when breaking news occurs. Effective immediately users may register at one of the following sites: http://CIO.com/alerts; http://Computerworld.com/alerts; http://InfoWorld.com/alerts; http://NetworkWorld.com/alerts.
“The IDG partnership showcases a unique and innovative use of the VoiceIndigo platform,” said John Mayerhofer, VoiceIndigo CEO. “Look for future enhancements to this program and the VoiceIndigo platform.”
