Google – one of the most popular search engine that has everything in the world you want to search for. Even I am a regular user of Gmail and there are many time when I get lot of mails with important attachments like Doc files, PPT files, Excel files and many more. But, I feel it very annoying sometimes when I have to download and save them on my computer disk.
Even having a big laptop it is very difficult to carry it everywhere when I am on the move. So, I decided to find out the solution that will give me freedom to save all attachment in my Google Docs account. There is a advantage of saving attachments in my Google Docs account – it allows me to view documents in future anywhere if I don’t have my laptop with me.
After a few hours of research, I finally found a super easy way that allows me to save gmail attachments in my Google Docs account with a single click. Its a Google Chrome add-on called Gmail Attachments To Doc created by Josh Sullivan that works excellent and done the task quiet efficiently. Now, let’s see How To Save Gmail Attachments Directly To Google Docs Without Downloading using Gmail Attachments To Doc chrome add-on.
1. Download the Gmail Attachments To Doc chrome addon and install it. You don’t need to restart the browser after installing the add-on.
2. After installation is complete, refresh the Gmail window and you will see the “Save to Docs” option between “View” and “Download” options below the attachment file just like shown in the below image.
3. Just click on “Save To Docs” option and it will be directly saved to your Google Docs account. After upload of your attachment is complete, a new tab will be open stating “Your file has been saved to Google Docs”.

Thanks for this tip. It will be a big time saver for me. Most of the time I don’t want to download those ebooks to my computer anyway. Saving them right to Google Docs is perfect.
