Mochila, a global online media marketplace for text, video, and photo content, announced a strategic partnership with Gigya, the widget distribution and tracking network. Mochila will deploy Gigya’s Wildfire technology to its extensive network of buyers and sellers including content publishers of all sizes, from blogs to large media companies.
Mochila members can use Wildfire to add and distribute content directly, in a single step, to more than a dozen sites including TypePad, Blogger, MySpace and Facebook, among many others. Mochila plans to expand the deployment to enable fully controlled viral badges, giving publishers total control of how their content is distributed on republishers’ sites.
Mochila’s network of buyers and sellers includes the most-recognized media brands in the world. Content providers such as the Associated Press, Reuters, Getty Images and Hearst Magazines, have turned to Mochila to expand the reach and value of their content. Since its inception, Gigya has signed 500 partners, including seven of the top 10 widget developers. More than 1 billion widgets are distributed and tracked using Wildfire every month.
