Online time tracking and invoicing service FreshBooks announced that it has integrated with the new Amazon Flexible Payments Service (Amazon FPS) to provide money transmitter services and payment processor selection for their small to midsize business customers. FreshBooks customers can now be paid quickly and easily by their clients through their clients’ existing Amazon.com accounts. Because people only have to set up a payment method once with Amazon, payments become hassle-free. Since many clients of FreshBooks customers are also Amazon.com customers, this new payment option will help FreshBooks customers get paid faster.
By using Amazon FPS, FreshBooks is enabling tens of millions of existing Amazon customers to transact with FreshBooks clients with little friction using the same accounts and payment instruments that they use for purchases on Amazon.com. Using the money transmitter functionality within Amazon FPS, FreshBooks will move money between invoice senders and recipients using their Amazon Payments accounts.
“Like FreshBooks, Amazon understands the power that online applications can provide to businesses. We are pleased to be invited to be among the first to use this service to break down the barriers entrepreneurs encounter in building businesses in today’s connected world,†said Michael McDerment, CEO of FreshBooks. “FPS promises to be an excellent tool to allow our users to more effectively manage transactions with their customers and therefore get paid in a more timely way.â€
