The Flickr servers experienced an interesting problem over the previous weekend, that caused some users to see unwanted images, including pornography, posted on their pages that were pulling in images from Flickr photography pools.
I thought my (Flickr) account had been hacked and some joker was swapping out images.
While the matter was ultimately resolved after taking the site offline for a few hours, the issue does have some consumers and watchdog groups concerned about both security, as well as propriety. One Flickr user, Alida Saxon went as far as to say, “There is some particularly pornographic photography on Flickr. It should be stored in a different area on Flickr.”
