Facebook is marking its 200 million active users by teaming up with the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) to make it easy for people around the world to join the LIVESTRONG move ment. The LAF has created virtual LIVESTRONG gifts for Facebook users to share with friends on the online social networking site, with the proceeds benefiting the LAF.
“We’re excited to work with the Lance Armstrong Foundation,” said Randi Zuckerberg, from Facebook Marketing. “Purchasing and sharing a virtual LIVESTRONG wristband or cycling jersey from the Lance Armstrong Foundation makes it easy for people to engage others to make a difference in the issues that matter to them. Together we can make a difference.”
The LAF and Facebook are offering virtual LIVESTRONG wristbands and cycling jerseys for purchase through the Facebook Gift Shop. Virtual gifts from 15 other global charities and advocacy organizations are available for purchase as well.
