Facebook’s founder, Mark Zuckerberg, is celebrating the 250 millionth person joining.
No prizes a la download milestones at the Apple App Store, just a warm fuzzy feeling for the anonymous person that joined sometime yesterday that they’ve contributed to a social networking phenomenon. Or something like that.
We’re not privy to just how many of those 250 million users are active, what an active user is (do they have to log in at least once a week, or play Bejeweled, or find out what colour best describes them, or what their porn star name is?), or even how many are genuine human users and how many are robots, amusing profiles for people’s pets, and so on.
Well, regardless of that, 250 million is a big number of users for any site to have.
Looking at the map of Facebook infiltration, it’s fairly obvious where the population hotspots are, and where Mark and co. might want to try targeting next. Facebook China has a long way to go.
