Consumers can now experience the fun of console quality video games on their mobile handsets with the launch of Vollee 1.0. The new service offers high-end games streamed over 3G networks as never seen before on phones. Video game industry publishers Activision and Codemasters and Encore Software, Inc. are among the first to support the launch of the service.
Vollee’s proprietary solution enables high-end games to work on mobile phones, taking into account the screen size, the key layout and making sure all the fun of playing the original game remains. Vollee’s interactive video streaming platform optimizes compression to minimize bandwidth requirements and also leverages the 3G mobile networks in such a way that gamers can play fast paced, high quality video games previously impossible on mobile. A single software download to a 3G handset provides access to the Vollee streamed titles, enabling gamers to find and play mobile games more easily than ever.
Vollee’s patent-pending VolleeX engine underpins the new gaming experience. VolleeX enables moving, re-sizing or replacing any object within the original video game without access to source code, ensuring that the game play is maximized for mobile. The scalable solution is also designed to quickly and easily accommodate any number of simultaneous users, thereby eliminating any load issues. The service is in trials now internationally with major carriers and will be launched in North America early next year.
