Alan Warms of Participate Media today announced in a blog post that Yahoo acquired BuzzTracker.com. He will be joining Yahoo to run Yahoo News as Vice President and General Manager. Yahoo will also bring on board all Participate Media staff. Financial details were not disclosed though BoomTown places it at $5 million (based on source).

The Associated Press reports that Yahoo will sell most of the display advertising for Bebo. The partnership extends Yahoo’s efforts to boost advertising revenue from other web sites besides its own.
This deal marks the first time that Yahoo has agreed to supply advertising to a social networking site. Yahoo had previously been feeding search results to Bebo. It now plans to begin funneling display ads to Bebo in the fourth quarter.

Yahoo! Inc. today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire BlueLithium, one of the largest and fastest growing online global ad networks that offers an array of direct response products and capabilities for advertisers and publishers. Under the terms of the agreement, Yahoo! will acquire BlueLithium for approximately $300 million in cash.
“BlueLithium’s products, technology and team will be an integral part of our drive to build the industry’s leading advertising and publishing network,” said Jerry Yang, chief executive officer, Yahoo! Inc. “This acquisition will extend our ability to deliver powerful data analytics, advanced targeting and innovative media buying strategies to our customers, who are increasingly looking for these insights. By leveraging BlueLithium’s complementary expertise and tools, we will be able to better address the needs of our performance-based display advertisers and enhance the value of our publishers’ inventory.”
The addition of BlueLithium is the logical next step in creating the largest and most effective online ad network globally, which includes inventory on Yahoo!’s owned and operated properties, the Yahoo! Publisher Network, and the Right Media Exchange.

Local.com today announced that it has renewed a multi-year agreement in which Yahoo! will continue to deliver its sponsored search results to Local.com, including Local.com’s recently expanded local search network.
“Yahoo’s considerable base of high quality local advertisers complements Local.com’s highly relevant search results. National Lampoon, Inc. announced that it has launched a National Lampoon video channel on Yahoo! Video.
“The new National Lampoon channel on Yahoo! Video is another step in our progress towards building out the National Lampoon Video Network,” said Daniel Laikin, National Lampoon’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our relationship with Yahoo! Video provides another destination for our fans worldwide to view our original comedy content and interact with our programming.”
All of National Lampoon’s new programming will be made available on Yahoo! Video through the National Lampoon channel. Initial programming includes National Lampoon’s hugely popular webisodes, which have drawn praise from top critics nationwide, as well as National Lampoon’s SpinCycle mashimations and the Fat Guy Nation series.
