Yahoo! Go 2.0 adds Chinese language version for Taiwan

It is an innovative application, designed specifically for the mobile user, that allows consumers to personalize their mobile Internet experience with content from the entire Internet and a reinvention of mobile search via Yahoo! oneSearch.

The Chinese language version of Yahoo! Go 2.0 for Taiwan features a suite of widgets, including oneSearch, address book, calendar, Flickr photos, weather, news, sports and financial information. Users can download it Yahoo! Taiwan Website

Yahoo inks multi-year agreements with Cars.com, Forbes.com, Ziff-Davis Media

These agreements represent the continued build-out of Yahoo!’s network of premium publishers, which will benefit advertisers, publishers and users. These relationships enable marketers to reach their target audiences with high-value inventory on Yahoo! and across the web, improving reach, frequency and relevance.

Yahoo, WebMD sign exclusive search and advertising agreement

webmd.pngYahoo! and WebMD announced the forging of an exclusive, multi-year search and advertising distribution agreements. Under the new agreements, Yahoo! will power sponsored search across the WebMD network of consumer sites, including WebMD Health, MedicineNet, eMedicine Health and RxList. In addition, WebMD will extend its advertising reach to include WebMD users across Yahoo! properties and services. WebMD will be the only significant online health publisher to represent Yahoo!’s advertising inventory.

With online advertising spending in the health and pharmaceuticals category expected to top $1 billion next year, this agreement provides both Yahoo! and WebMD with additional reach and targeting that will benefit advertisers and consumers alike. Yahoo!’s robust ad platform coupled with effective targeting capabilities will enable advertisers to reach an even larger engaged audience and consumers will receive more relevant and timely health-related marketing messages. Additionally, should WebMD choose to make its inventory available to a third party advertising network, Yahoo! will have the opportunity to extend its advanced advertising products across the WebMD network of consumer sites on competitive terms.

Yahoo!, eBay and PayPal join forces to protect consumers against e-mail fraud and phishing scams

email.jpgYahoo!, eBay and PayPal today announced a collaborative effort to better protect consumers against fraudulent e-mails and the dangerous scams known as phishing attacks. Starting today, eBay and PayPal customers worldwide using Yahoo! Mail will begin receiving fewer fake e-mails claiming to be sent by eBay and PayPal. Yahoo! Mail is the first web mail service to block these types of malicious messages for eBay and PayPal through the use of DomainKeys e-mail authentication technology.

DomainKeys technology provides a unique way to verify the authenticity of e-mail messages, allowing Internet service providers to determine if messages are real and should be delivered to a customer’s inbox. The collaborative effort between Yahoo!, eBay and PayPal will result in the blocking of unauthenticated e-mail, reducing the volume of fraudulent e-mail received by consumers and lowering their risk of falling for phishing attacks.

Yahoo!, eBay and PayPal are in the process of transitioning their systems from DomainKeys to the proposed standard DomainKeys Identified Mail. The implementation is expected to be complete in the coming months.

The technology upgrade will be rolled out globally over the next several weeks to all users of Yahoo! Mail.

Search.
