KartRider gets into Halloween spirit

kart.pngNexon America Inc. is serving up a special batch of Halloween treats for KartRider players. The free-to-download, free-to-play online multiplayer racing game, has already surpassed enormous open beta expectations and now sends its “riders” off to the races with special Halloween-themed events and releases.

KartRider plans to release a spooky new area, Creepy Hollow, showcasing two new themed tracks, ‘Fright Fight’ and ‘Hidden Monastery.’ Creepy Hollow’s new courses feature winding trails through eerie forests, twisting cliff roads, long dark corridors, and even a ghostly cemetery. These new additions will be welcomed by racers who have already exhausted the numerous available tracks through sheer KartRider addiction.

Keeping up with the Halloween theme, Nexon also plans to release its specially designed Pumpkin Racer E2 Kart in conjunction with the release of Creepy Hollow. As the first kart being released in the E2 series, the Pumpkin Racer E2 will have the distinction of being the highest level kart currently available. The kart’s quirky appearance complements the game’s cartoon theme and is one of the more powerful karts offered. The popularity of the holiday and enthusiasm of users assures Pumpkin Racer E2 karts will invade KartRider courses in high volumes.

EA Mobile invites mobile gamers to ‘Rock and Bowl’ with The Sims

eamobile.pngElectronic Arts Inc. announced two new original games for mobile phones based on the best-selling The Sims franchise. First up is The Sims Bowling, in which mobile gamers can lace up their bowling shoes and head for the lanes. Next is The Sims DJ, an innovative music and rhythm game that lets mobile gamers turn their cell phones into turntables and even create customized ringtones.

In The Sims Bowling, players will customize and name a Sim, and then head to the bowling alley to try to win popularity by scoring strikes and winning trophies. Since the game is designed for easy one-button game play, users are able to adjust and control the power of the bowling ball as it’s sent screaming down the lanes. The Sims Bowling includes four different game modes – Classic, Strike-O-Thon, Spare-O-Thon and Online Derby, which is a real-time race against up to four live opponents that connect through each player’s carrier network. Helping the Sim master the ball speed and spin for pin knock-downs makes for a challenging, fun and realistic bowling experience!

Coming this holiday, music fans and enthusiasts will have a chance to create their own tracks in a variety of popular genres, including Pop, Rock, Hip Hop and Dance with The Sims DJ. Mix and blend pre-recorded music from an extensive collection of tracks built into the game to help take your Sim to DJ superstardom. Conquer the clubs by matching tracks to the musical genres the club-goers in Downtown Pleasantville want to hear. Players can also earn Simoleons, The Sims version of currency, to spend on new music tracks and equipment, such as speakers, turntables, headphones, and shades.
