SpeedDate.com, an online speed dating site has hosted over one million “3-minute” online speed dates. Every day, thousands of new users join SpeedDate, which has become a premiere online dating destination for singles looking to meet new people quickly and easily.

Launched in October 2007, SpeedDate.com’s patented system allows singles to meet each other through 3-minute online speed dates using their webcams or instant messaging. Starbucks enters social networking space

The site is Starbucks’ first online community and enables customers to share their ideas, engage in conversations and play a role in shaping Starbucks future. This new community seeks to strengthen Starbucks connection with customers by:

• Establishing a meaningful dialogue between and among community members and Starbucks, extending the coffeehouse experience outside store walls;

• Creating a new space for customers to share ideas and be part of shaping Starbucks in the future; and,

• Building an open forum to share the Starbucks story in a way that fosters authenticity, transparency and leadership in conversations about Starbucks.

The new website also features an area called Ideas Into Action where customers can track the progress of ideas that Starbucks is working to bring to life. Starbucks is also launching a site for Starbucks partners to share their ideas and engage in conversations.

    Disaboom sponsors top hand cyclist Alejandro Albor at 2008 Paralympics

    aa01.jpgDisaboom, the online community and resource for people with disabilities, is sponsoring Alejandro Albor, a double-leg amputee and the number one hand cyclist in the world, at the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing, China. In addition to sponsoring the Olympic hopeful in his quest for gold, Disaboom will also help finance a documentary film of Alejandro’s life by filmmaker Steven Barber of Vanilla Fire Productions.

    Alejandro will participate in several events leading up to the Paralympics, including The Miami Marathon in January, The Los Angeles Marathon in March, and The Colorado National Wheel Chair Races in June. Alejandro will then continue on to Beijing with one objective in mind: To bring gold to the U.S. and motivate others with disabilities.
