NBA player Doug Christie blends love and basketball with its new online radio show

901am.comNBA power couple Doug and Jackie Christie, announce the launch of their new online radio show, Infinite Love Talk Radio with Doug and Jackie Christie, beginning November 1, 2007. The weekly online radio show will air on Saturdays at 5pm (PST).

The Christies will dish about NBA news and what goes on in the locker rooms “behind the scenes.” They will give their opinions about the reasons for infidelity, as well as, NBA couples on- air advice and solutions on how to move past their obstacles. Listeners are encouraged to call in live and use the Christies’ knowledge of love, relationships and basketball.

Despite the sobering statistic that over 50% of marriages end in divorce, Doug and Jackie are proof that some people still believe in the sanctity of marriage.

The Christies’ latest book No Ordinary Love: A True Story of Marriage and Basketball provides an unprecedented view of their close relationship, which grows stronger every day, and present detailed recommendations for not only making relationships work, but making them last.

NowLive user broadcast service adds widget

nowlive.jpgNowLive, a relatively new online service which combines social networking and user-generated broadcasting, announced a new widget today for making it easier to get a talk show noticed by the online masses. This widget can be plugged into a variety of Web sites.

The NowLive Talk Show widget lets anyone with a social networking profile on sites such as MySpace or blog sites like LiveJournal, Blogger and TypePad embed their own live talk show directly into their personal profile. NowLive in general works by letting one dial a local phone number to create voice streams for his or her new talk show. Talk show hosts can interact with listeners through a variety of tools and the shows are later made available as downloadable podcasts.

“Bloggers, podcasters and anyone who wants to be heard can be on the air in less than 60 seconds,” said NowLive Co-founder & CEO Kevin Bromber. “But unlike traditional radio, a social broadcast lets the audience actively participate in the show from their computers and cell phones.”

Odiogo adds listen button for enabling read aloud blog posts

odiogo-listen.jpgOdiogo, a service which lets online publications and blogs create audible versions of content, announced yesterday an easier way for users to interact with this audio content. It’s called the Listen Button and it’s designed to be embedded in an article or post near familiar buttons like email and print.

The Listen Button, when clicked on, opens a player which reads aloud the currently displayed article. This new feature is apparently already in use by a variety of Web sites, including the Online Edition of the Jerusalem Post and the popular tech gadget blog The Red Ferret Journal.

Odiogo added the free Listen Button “has been adapted for major blogging platforms. Starter kits have been developed to quickly install the button on blogs developed in the WordPress, Blogger or TypePad environments.”
