Social bookmarking site StumbleUpon is growing rapidly. Their latest addition is StumbleVideo, a truly brilliant notion. Just as with the link, just “stumble” upon a user submitted video clip. How’s that for killing time online?

So Sony tried to spin the blogosphere with a Zipatoni produced viral marketing blog All I want for Christmas is a PSP. However, observant readers soon discovered that it was all a hoax and this is what the site says now:

Busted. Nailed. Snagged. As many of you have figured out (maybe our speech was a little too funky fresh???), Peter isn’t a real hip-hop maven and this site was actually developed by Sony. Guess we were trying to be just a little too clever. From this point forward, we will just stick to making cool products, and use this site to give you nothing but the facts on the PSP.

A nice way to come clean if you ask me, saving a little face and all. PR firms should take more caution if they want to do these kind of things, really.

The Fortune 500 Blog Project is a volunteer-driven project started by Easton Ellsworth of Business Blog Wire, that aims to evaluate blogs that are owned and/or operated by Fortune 500 companies. The project also aims to find out to what degree these companies are using internal corporate blogs, and to highlight blogs that discuss these companies.

You can participate in this project by signing up, conducting research on Fortune 500 companies, and sharing this information with others. All the blogs currently part of the project are listed over here.

So how does the project work?

1. Pick a Fortune 500 company. If someone has already picked that company, consider adding to their work.
2. Search the Web for any public-facing blogs by that company or its employees.
3. Analyze the company’s blog(s).
4. Publish your findings at your blog.
5. Link to your findings from this wiki. Examples of published research posts: General Electric and Ford.
6. Repeat this process for as many companies as possible!

Darren Rowse polled his visitors over at Problogger.net regarding how much money they made with Adsense in November 2006. If you thought that Darren’s readers where blogosphere hotshots in the Adsense $1,000/month club, you were dead wrong.

As with previous years, the largest group of bloggers using with AdSense earn under $10 a month (28% of of all who use AdSense).

However, there are indeed some who make at least a decent amount of money with Adsense.

Interestingly – the second largest category wasn’t the $10 – $29 category – but the $100-$499 one (21%).

Automattic’s hosted WordPress service, WordPress.com, has just launched a new design. It’s a vast improvement to the previous one, who was about to be a placeholder design according to the launch post.

In this new design we’ve added a bit of color, more prominent use of avatars, better highlighting of popular content, and hot tags so people can see some of the latest posts in popular topics. (In different languages!)
