NewTeeVee have learned that Wallstrip, the somewhat pop-ish stock show, have secured a little more than half a million dollars in funding. Howard Lindzon is the source, although both his blog and the Wallstrip site are lacking any more information.

With the funding, Wallstrip plans to create five more original shows on the topics of finance and venture capital. Lindzon says, whereas Wallstrip is keeping things upbeat and happy with the all-time-high theme, “not mucking around with companies like Dell,” at least one of the other shows will tackle the fact that stocks don’t always go up.

Congratulations to the Wallstrip team. Some of us are still wondering how you’ll monetize but that could be a later problem I guess, as Howard said in the interview over at Bloggertalks, the Revver ads in the end of the show doesn’t pay any bills.

Social networking sites are becoming the next big target for malware, worms, and phishing attacks.

With the rise of Web 2.0 and more social interaction on sites like MySpace, LinkedIn and YouTube, security experts warn that we will see more hackers insert malicious code into dynamically generated Web pages in 2007.

The dangers of being on MySpace are no longer limited to sexual predators. Now you have to worry about being a victim of cybercrimes such as fraud, identity theft, spyware, viruses, and so on.

Most researchers agree that the motivation for malware development is increasingly financial.

According to a study conducted by ABI Research, mobile users accessing social networking sites such as MySpace, will reach 174 million by 2011.

The big stumbling block at the moment is the business model – the more time and use on the sites, the more money they cost the user, inhibiting growth.

If these sites are to be able to sustain their growth and reach the milestone, they will need to dramatically rethink their business models and particularly how they plan to monetize their services.

Back in 2007 I thought every blog on the the internet would have a job board. But have you checked out the Gigaom Job Board lately? It’s like a ghost town. Even the Blogger Job Board over at ProBlogger is flying with plenty of tumbleweeds.

I’m not sure what to make of it. Other than its proof that Craigslist is still the place to be. Or maybe that this is spells the end of jobs. We could only hope.
