Launching a successful blog isn’t easy (although some people make it seem effortless ;)). With the 60 million blogs in existence and the blogosphere doubling every six months, according to Technorati, its not easy to distinguish yourself from everyone else out there.
Thousands of new blogs are launched every day, but only a handful ever get read by more than a few hundred people, and even fewer ever make a dollar’s profit.
To help you ensure a successful blog launch, here are 21 points to keep in mind during the first few weeks of your blog’s life.

Rachel Cunliffe, of Cre8d Design pointed out a really awesome plugin known as WP-Cats that allows bulk category editing.
WP-Cats augments the Manage Posts screen with Ajax controls that allow two-click adding and single-click removing of categories from individual posts.
If a post is tagged with only Uncategorized, this tag will be removed when any other is added.
This plugin will save you loads of time in managing your categories.

9. Forgetting Why You Started
At times its easy to fall in love with the money, and then you lose track of why you are reallly in this. For me its all about the interaction. In the latter part of 2006 I had more fun just interacting than I have in a long time. So folks never forget why you got started. Whether that’s to spend more time with family, or more freedom, or to share your passions.

At times its a bit mind blowing to come up with creative ideas for blog posts. I have a book of ideas that I keep close by to come up with killer ideas for award winning posts. I spent the last 3 days in New York City largely the joy of not blogging was huge inspiration to get back on the saddle and continue again. Last night I was on the train heading out of New York and returning to the wild woods of Eastern Pennsylvania. I was intrigued by a book a friend had given me to read entitled Ishmael.
6+ Years ago I came to blogging as a way to express my spiritual journey. Lately I’ve revisted this process in different ways through social outreach, and finding new ways to interact. This book Ishmael shakes all fundamental systems of belief, systems, human ecosystems and forces you to reconsider Man’s basic purpose in life.
