PayPerPost enters FaceBook scene

PayperpostPayPerPost, as it seems, is taking matters beyond blogs.

Launching the latest Facebook application, PayPerPost gives Facebook users the option to earn through a referral plan by simply posting PPP on their Facebook profiles.

This application comes with features for both Advertisers and Posties, and is tied up with the affiliate program for bloggers, making you eligible for the same $15 referral fee if someone signs up through your referral.

Facebook acquires Parakey

Facebook announced that it has acquired Parakey, a startup founded by Blake Ross and Joe Hewitt of Firefox fame. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Ross and Hewitt will be joining Facebook and both are expected to work on the Facebook Platform.

“Facebook Platform is finally making it easy to share experiences with friends and family over the web, a goal Joe and I have worked toward for years,” Blake Rose said. “We are thrilled to join the most innovative technology company in the industry.”

Avvenu launches social music service on Facebook

Avvenu Music for Facebook allows Facebook users to explore, experience, profile and share their musical preferences.

Avvenu Music for Facebook automatically places stickers in user profiles based on each person’s favorite artists, genres and musical era. Users can share stickers with friends, customize a “sticker wall,” and comment on each others’ stickers and collections. Stickers are based on a sophisticated, unpublished rules system which takes into account several factors when deciding whether to award individual stickers. Over 50 stickers are now available, including “Unorthodox”, “Complicated”, “Metal Head” and “I Love the 80’s”. New stickers and expanded social music features will be regularly added to the service.

ijji.com releases casual game application on Facebook Platform

The ijji.com game application provides Facebook users instant access to a variety of flash game titles including action games Legendary Fighter and Kung Fu Smash, puzzle titles Pooch Blocks and arcade style titles such as Bamboo Assassins and Beat Bubbles.

Change.org aims to turn Facebook into a vehicle for political change

changeorg.jpgChange.org, a social network for political and social activism, launched an integration of its service with Facebook.com. The integrated service allows Facebook’s 27 million members to create grassroots political action groups and raise money for all 2008 presidential campaigns.

Change.org’s portal on Facebook allows users to raise money for any of the presidential campaigns as well as for “Draft Funds” that allow supporters to donate to potential candidates such as Al Gore, Fred Thompson, and Michael Bloomberg. Users can also create their own political action groups, organize rallies and get-out-the-vote drives, and form candidate slates to support upcoming congressional elections.

In addition to Change.org’s political tools, Facebook members can use Change.org’s portal to raise money for over 1 million nonprofit organizations, organize volunteer events with friends, and raise awareness about social causes through their personal networks.

“Facebook is the fastest growing social network on the web and has the potential to become a true political force,” said Change.org founder and CEO, Ben Rattray.
