MovieTickets.com poll ranks Harry Potter sequel as most anticipated movie of the coming year

Nine months in advance of its box office debut, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is already casting a spell over moviegoers, according to a poll from MovieTickets.com.

In a survey conducted between Aug. 8 and Oct. 5, nearly 4,000 movie fans who had just purchased tickets at MovieTickets.com weighed in with their picks for the “most anticipated” films over the next 12 months. Rounding out the top three films generating the most interest over the next year were sequels “X- Men Origins: Wolverine” and “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.”

Clone Wars Ratings and retail sales usher in new era of Star Wars Entertainment

A new era in Star Wars entertainment has begun: Following its record-breaking October 3 premiere on Cartoon Network, a cumulative total of more than 27 million people have seen the first three episodes of Lucasfilm Animation’s weekly Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, and Star Wars has become the biggest licensed toy property of the year.

DailyMotion, Warner Bros. Television bring jPod to the web

Dailymotion and Warner Bros. Television Group (WBTVG) inked a content distribution agreement to bring all 13 episodes of the Canadian cult-hit television series jPod to Dailymotion.

jPod is available to Dailymotion users for free streaming, with all 13 episodes posted. jPod can also be seen at TheWB.com, WBTVG’s new premium, ad-supported, video-on-demand, interactive and personalized network.

Based on author Douglas Coupland’s cult bestseller of the same name, “jPod” is a one-hour drama series (13 episodes) which aired originally on Canada’s CBC Television. With amusing twists and turns, the show chronicled the often amoral, lighthearted and even shocking lives of Ethan Jarlewski (David W. Kopp – “Psych,” “Blade: The Series”) and his four coworkers bureaucratically marooned in the bowels of a massive video game company, as well as Ethan’s parents, Jim (Alan Thicke – “Growing Pains”) and Carol (Sherry Miller – “Queer as Folk”).
