Fred Wilson revisits some great tips on How To Get Famous By Blogging

I always like to use a sensational headline. Many people read blogs in aggregators and these aggregators generally only show the headline in the main view. So you have to give people a reason to click through and read the post. I don’t think I’ve achieved either fame or fortune via blogging. Wikipedia kicked out an entry on me because I wasn’t “notable” and I make about $30,000 per year in advertising on my blog which I give all to charity.

This is not an official response from The Blog Herald, this is a personal response, based on limited personal experiences of Mike Arrington.

While at a brief appearance at WordCamp I walked up to Mike Arrington, he brushed me off, ignored me and acted like a jerk. I left it at that. I followed up with an email a few weeks later about some startup news. Again brushed off. I’ve heard of plenty of others who have done the same.

However, Mike Arrington has taken time for people — people I know — that line his checkbook with dollars.

The problem with disclosure is that its simply not the issue. The issue I have with Mike Arrington is the system of stepping on the little guy. Which is why I have taken so much offense to Mike’s belittling of PayPerPost’s attempt to estable an entire new industry. Even if some look saddly upon it. Because Adsense Revenues are minimal. Yahoo isn’t an option. And MSN has never cared much about professional bloggers. Chitika is highly niche focussed and not very reliable. But PayPerPost seems to me to be an up and coming force.

Even the markets seem to be shifting with Text Link Ads. I hate to say it but my calculations show that link buying/selling is on a downward trend.

While this doesn’t have much to do with the issue on appearances it really is the entire issue to me looking from afar. People want some level of success. Maybe not TechCrunch success but they wholeheartedly want to have this business ProBlogging legitimized. And well instead of being apart of the solution Mike Arrington bashes companies that try to legitimize the business.
That’s the problem I have with him, and I think that’s the problem many have with him.

In his most recent post he clearly avoids the fact that TechCrunch is a blog, but its not a full on media publication. Again spotting off arrogantly that he is somehow supreme to the average blog publication. In my eyes again adding fuel to the fire.

I’m not Mike Arrington, and I never wish to be Mike Arrington. But he could learn alot by trying to make friends of bloggers instead of trying to defend himself all the time.

It’s no secret that every day there is only 24 Hours. However, there are plenty of ways you can add an hour a day to your life in a few simple easy steps. It just takes discpline and commitment.

First, off an introduction. I’m the most unorganized, lazy, son of a gun on the planet. Luckily I know what it takes for me to solve some of these problems. Therefore here I go sharing them with you. Here’s my simple prescription for a 25 Hour Day.

Stop drinking pop.
I’m not really opposed to caffeine per se, just pop. Here’s why. Pop is largely made up of bad sugar that is known to the health community as extrinsic sugars. Extrinsic sugars tend to slow down just about every process of the body and mind. If you avoid them you will think clearer and each day add a few seconds to your each activity.

Add Water To Your OJ.
OJ contains way to much bad sugar and not only does it rot your teeth it loads up your body on bad sugars which you want to avoid.

Stop snoozing
Instead of hitting that snooze button wake up bright and early and start your day. Not only will you feel better but you will develop a foundation for good habits that will help you in the future.

It’s been nearly a year or more I don’t really keep track since I launched Jack of All Blogs, thus taking my profile and everything to a new level in the blogosphere. There have been a lot of great things this year. New Friendships, Business Partnerships, and well lots of change. It’s all been very defining to me. It’s like a painting that’s in constant change for the better. I’ve learned how to launch blogs ( Read this new blog if you dont know how )

I’ve travelled a lot. Been to a lot of major us cities as a result of blogging. Here’s my story, here’s my thank you to the blogosphere for a great year.

Blogging was never supposed to be anything real. I started blogging on Jack of All Blogs more or less as an amusing joke. I’d like to first off thank Paul Scrivens for well being a good sport and not hating me too much for being disruptive. I’ve never always agreed 100% with the guy but he’s a good sport, and I hold a lot of respect for him still to this day.

Life during Phase JOAB brought me in contact with some interesting folks that I hold dear to this day. Because of Jack of All Blogs, I met a wonderful woman who I met up with and have a lot of respect for. I still care a lot about her. And well it was a learning experience.

I also had a chance to travel to about every major US City to work on developing some contacts that later morphed into some big opportunities. Because of blogging I’ve met friends and business partners alike including people I tend to think of as good friends to this day.

Pronet Advertising Explores the Pro’s and Cons of MyBlogLog

In the past few months it seems that more and more bloggers have been placing the MyBlogLog widget on their blog so they can see who is coming to their blog. The concept of MyBlogLog(ging) is becoming popular and some have gone even as far as writing guides on how to use it. So why is MyBlogLogging catching on like a wildfire?

I myself have been tempted to use MyBlogLog this explains in more details some of the benefits of engaging in a community like this for my blog.
