I’m not sure if I should laugh or be concerned.
Welcome to Gevil.org, the website dedicated to educating the public about the Evil nature of Google and the inherent flaws prevalent throughout their business model. From their colorful logo, to their “Do no evil†motto, Google has convinced the world that they are simply on a mission to improve the internet, the user experience, and life in general. Well my friends, the time has come for you to see what the search engine monopoly is really all about… greed.
Check out recently launched Gevil.org for some skeptic Google watching. Time will tell if it’s all just a crusade against a company that actually works, or serious digging in the works of Google. It is, however, great stuff for a Saturday morning post.
Personal extra cred from me to people who can relate to “Call it Gevil†in the right way…

What does this do that Google Watch doesn’t already?
And what exactly is the story here? “Big company wants to make more money”. Wow.
When people criticise Microsoft, it’s largely because they deliberately leverage their core product (Windows) to give themselves an unfair advantage. When Google tried a similar trick – the ‘tips’ promoting their own products – they soon backed down.
Google ain’t perfect, but it’s a long way from evil. And anyway, everything is relative.

People tend to have a problem with too successful ventures. Microsoft is taking way more shit than they deserve, and on the same note the internet crowd have been way too kind to Google in some areas.
Let’s face it, no one is treated right 100% of the time.

Nice to see some that looks at Google with sceptic eyes.
I’ll watch it my self and see what it turns in to.
