blogTV.ca, Canada’s first and only live, user-generated video website, is broadcasting content 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from the streets of Toronto. All month long beginning this week, a blogTV.ca Hummer will travel the city offering Torontonians the opportunity to broadcast their stories, opinions and talents. This initiative is part of a larger national blogTV.ca marketing campaign rolling out throughout the spring.
“We are very excited about blogTV.ca and the power it gives to people to be their own broadcasters,” says Claude Galipeau, Senior Vice President of Digital Media for Alliance Atlantis. “We’ve decided to hit the streets to show off its power and showcase this new platform to Canadians while providing content 24/7 to our online users.”
This is way too cool! For me, anyone or anything that allows people to contribute content, or broadcast content for this matter, is exciting. So, I visited the link, wanting to watch Torontonians tell their stories and opinions. This is what I got… Sad…

There is always Video.ca to upload videos like a Canadian YouTube…
If it makes you feel better, Minic, I can’t watch it without registering. How stupid is that. This is an example of how not to do a streaming video site.
Don’t worry the content sucks. You’re not missing anything.
The only vidoes I wasn’t able to watch without registering were in the After Hours channel; otherwise, I never had to register. The content has changed entirely since people like jmon started broadcasting. Plus, it’s only been live since December or January I think- so I’d them a break as barely anyone in canada has heard of the site outside of the new media community. Personally, I welcome canadian’s creating something like this and don’t understand why we’re always inclined towards negative comments. Maybe if our national instincts were to support our fellow man we would have a better country in general, and less of our creative talent would leave.
Man this new Blogtv thing is ridiculous! is this the online party of worldly misfits. I mean, I was told that some of these peoole are online for most of the day and night. Whether they are wacking off or just sitting there being a new breed of very sad individuals, I am not impressed. One can befriend who they want and block peole at the touch of a button. maybe there is a sense of power that is attained by having the ability to control these situations. Who knows, but I would definately not wish to meet these people in the REAL world. I checked it out once and that was enough for me.
