Some in the blogosphere are calling for the boycott of technorati after Edelman and Technorati have tied such a close relationship. Edelman is the PR company that has done work in specifically in the blogosphere with Walmart and has been engrained in a scandle about transparency.
Yet Technorati has never come out and said why they tied the knot so closely and what that means for bloggers. Does Technorati pass the data on to corporate interests.
Which I’m sure is a possibility. You be the judge.

I think there should be other competing services alike Technorati. As long as it remains the sole provider of its type of service, bloggers are at risk.

David 901 looks great! Nice job dude. I like what you stated on your about page. Creativity and philosophy are paramount to ingenuity in blogging.
As for technorati I had no updates from them for three weeks. A couple of days ago it seemed to be working again. Wal-mart? Geese there has to come a time when the normal folks of the world will ride above what corporations think we want. I believe this is happening now in the blogosphere.
I’m off to read about the boycott!

Jessica,
Technorati has its issues. For me its largely unusuable. But there aren’t too many good alternatives. So we are stuck with what we have. Even if I don’t like the data it shares with companies or the service it provides.
It’s like being locked into one operating system, or one gas company. It’s just darn umcomfortable.
