Movie rental giant Blockbuster.com has launched Movie Clique, an easy-to-use application built on Facebook Platform that enables Facebook users to search thousands of movie titles and create lists of movies they want to see, movies they’ve already seen and all-time favorites to share with their friends.
Additionally, Facebook users who are subscribers to Blockbuster’s online rental service get the benefit of being able to rent movies directly from Blockbuster without leaving the Facebook website.
The introduction of Movie Clique is part of a broader effort by Blockbuster to engage and cultivate relationships with Facebook’s vast and active user base by providing them with community-driven movie-focused experiences.
“This is a great perk for Blockbuster subscribers, who now have the flexibility to interact with their ratings, reviews and rental queue from whichever site is most convenient. There’s no having to rebuild lists or re-rate movies to use the Facebook website as their point of access to Blockbuster,” said Keith Morrow, Blockbuster chief information officer.
