Incorporating an audio file in a blog is one of the best ways to attract visitors and keep them glued to your site. This strategy is most ideal for people including artists creating a music blog, a music review blog, a podcast blog or for voice talents who want to promote their voice services to potential clients.
WordPress is still a popular choice in creating blogs of all types today. It is easy to use and maintain and offers numerous plug ins that are sure to make your site fully functional moving forward.
The best part about using WordPress is you can easily include an audio player or plugin on your blog or website. Many are free to use hence, you just pick the style that suits you best.
WordPress Built-In Audio Player
Fortunately, WordPress already has a built in audio player plugin which makes it easy for new users to insert an audio file on the site or on a specific web page. The audio player features a volume control and can be set to play automatically when your blog loads or set to loop.
There are two options when incorporating an audio file in a blog or blog post. One is to include the URL of the file on a line by itself while the other option is to insert the audio file similar to how you would insert an image in a page or a blog post.
The only downside of this built in audio player is it stretches all the way across your blog’s content area.
Compact WP Audio Player
As its name suggests, this is a compact audio player in that it displays as a small player on a site. The player is very small as it only shows a play button in the form of an arrow and when set to play, only a pause button appears.
An advantage of this audio tool is it allows the user to put a title right beside the player. Additionally, you can create a list of various audios showing their titles.
Unfortunately, this plug in has no volume control hence, a visitor will have to make do with the available volume. It is possible, however, to set it to autoplay or loop.
Audio Player
Simply called audio player, this plugin can be customized according to your personal preference. For instance, the width can be adjusted but its height is fixed while the color can also be changed.
The plugin is also ideal for podcasters as it has a specific setting for podcasting. This particular section lets a user to apply audio files to go both before and after all the audios on the blog.
The only disadvantage of this player is it runs on flash hence, won’t play in certain devices.
Other than adding an audio player on your blog or website, a WordPress video plugin is another great addition. There are many you can find on the web but be sure to choose the best one that will meet your needs.
