According to BtoB‘s “2008 Marketing Priorities and Plans” survey, about 60% of business-to-business companies plan to increase their marketing budgets next year and 30% will retain a flat budget.
Because most clients want access to information 24/7, about 80% of marketers intend to boost their online marketing budgets with customer acquisition as the primary marketing goal.
Average increase in online marketing will be around 33%. Here are the specifics:
Among the online areas that will see increases next year are: Web site development (cited by 74.0% of marketers), e-mail (70.1%), search engine marketing (64.3%), video (39.5%), webcasting (39.1%), banners (36.4%), sponsorships (29.6%) and social media (26.2%).
Event marketing is expected to be a major hit next year with almost half of the marketers allocating more money here.
Moreover, ad campaigns remain part of the priority list with about 70% of marketers planning to create new campaigns in 2008.
