Xbox Live has over 6 million users, and it now would seem as if the online gaming network for Xbox and Xbox 360 users are targeted by credit card scammers. Apparently, people have found their Xbox Live accounts hijacked and pumped for Microsoft Points, the currency used to buy content via the Xbox Live Marketplace.

“Recently, there have been reports of fraudulent activity and account theft taking place on the Xbox Live network,” a Microsoft representative said in a statement provided to CNET News.com. “Security is a top priority for Xbox Live, and we are actively investigating all reports of fraudulent behavior and theft.”

Xbox Live will soon work together with Windows Vista, and will share the Microsoft Points structure. Also worth noting is that Xbox Live Gold use costs money, more or less as much as a Xbox 360 game each year. Pay money to get scammed, eh?

There’s a ton of these kinds of projects online, but this one might actually make sense. Shutdown Day wants you to go without your computer for a full 24 hours on March 24.

It is obvious that people would find life extremely difficult without computers, maybe even impossible. If they disappeared for just one day, would we be able to cope?
Be a part of one of the biggest global experiments ever to take place on the internet. The idea behind the experiment is to find out how many people can go without a computer for one whole day, and what will happen if we all participate!

There’s a great post consisting of 28 tips covering how to get started as a domainer up. What they mean is how you get started making money on buying and selling domains, and of course making a bundle while you own them as well. The post provides links, tips on how the not so tech-savvy can get into the game, things to consider and so on. It’s a good read even for people not really interested in getting into this kind of business.

I’ve been touching it actually, the shady side of it at least. I had a brand, very close to an actual keyword, back in pre-dotcom where there were no trademark typo laws backing me up. It all ended fairly well, but it cost me visitors, time and a little bit of money sorting the problems out. Needless to say, when given the opportunity to further define and secure my brand with style and domain names, I took it.

I wish I had read that post before my domain problems, but since it didn’t exist, and I was probably a bit naive, that would have been hard…

Right, so now you can search the web and win ticket to Kevin Federline’s birthday party. Britney Spears’ ex-husband is apparently really desperate to hawk his album, something that won’t work out if the critics are to be believed. Usually they aren’t, but this might be something to break the norm.

The new site, available at http://searchwithkevin.prodege.com, promises to put Federline’s famed discerning judgment to work for ordinary Web users, with an added incentive: Searchers are automatically entered in a contest to celebrate Federline’s birthday(s) with him in Los Angeles, on March 21st, and Las Vegas, on March 24th–billed as “a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
