Haven’t we had enough of sponsored post services? PayPerPost, ReviewMe and now SponsoredReviews adds to the pack. At least they’re requiring full disclosure, that’s something I guess.

SponsoredReviews is the the first paid-blogging system to allow advertisers and bloggers to be both passive and proactive. Advertisers can post opportunities to attract bids from bloggers, or they can search through bloggers profiles and purchase reviews directly.

There’s a launch post and all. Will you use it?

We’ve been covering the AOL offer on the European affiliate network TradeDoubler previously here on 901am. The latest in this affair is that the deal is likely to fall through as more shareholding funds are backing out. This according to a Reuters report.

That same report states that it expects AOL to raise its bid and extend the deadline for the deal.

I personally think this deal will fall through. AOL isn’t prepared to pay enough for TradeDoubler, and since the company is doing more than fine on its own it can afford to wait. But we’ll see.

MySpace News is happening, although we still don’t know when. Wired got hold of a Fox Interactive document with screenshots of the news acquiring service. Naturally, the screenshots ended up on the Wired site, including a Power Point presentation.

Speaking of which, Wired is due for a much needed relaunch this week. It’s appropriate that the screenshots hits TechCrunch, isn’t it?

$1m, that’s how much Topix paid for the domain topix.com. The idea is to move from topix.net to topix.com in the near future. According to PaidContent, the Topix folks are dreading this move since they rely so much on search engines and they are worried that they will lose ranking and traffic by switching domain names. They most certainly will.

This just points out how much web services today rely on search engines. In the early years, you went to one portal site all the time and in effect browsed in sort of an echo chamber. Nowadays, everything is just one search away, which is great for the user but could be an obstacle for content providers. Especially for sites that wants to re-brand themselves.

All in all, make sure you have the desired domain and identity before you launch your site! And don’t do it on a dotnet, that could cost you a million bucks…
