Internet service providers always claim rising network maintenance costs to justify high prices, slow speeds, lousy coverage, and onerous restrictions on your Internet access. And yet, here they are refusing to take Obama’s $4.7 billion broadband stimulus package, now admitting they’re actually flush with cash. Want to know how much Steve Jobs is gouging you on that pretty little underpowered toy you call the iPhone? Consider this: the iPhone has the highest profit margin in the entire handset industry, at a whopping 40%. My only complaint is that I won’t be able to attach snarky comments to retweets anymore. That’s what we need next, Twitter: snarky retweet support.
